My Latest Pregnancy Purchase

I've learned that while pregnant, it can be a difficult task to restrain yourself from buying things. I've done pretty good not buying things for the baby, I actually haven't purchased anything other than the essential crib and dresser (and non essential pooh bear) - yet! As for me, I've also done fairly well, I was lucky enough to wear mostly regular clothes up until a few weeks ago and even then I found a lady in my small group class at church that has let me borrow her entire stock of maternity clothes, which has been a huge blessing. I have bought some things, but its hard for me to justify spending a fortune on a couple of items that I will only be wearing for a few more months. Last week however, I found a shirt that I just could not live without. Mom and I were at the gym and saw one of the instructors (who is pregnant w/ twins) in this shirt and I had to ask where she got it. Of course, she tells me that she found the shirt somewhere in Dallas...yeah, I'm not driving to Dallas regardless of how bad I wanted that shirt! So...I went home and did some internet searching with no luck. Mom however is obviously much more adept at searching for specific items on the internet and she forwarded me the link to the shirt.....below is the picture.

So yes, I purchased the shirt - it didn't seem to matter that for the price of this T-shirt I could have gotten 4 regular T-shirts somewhere cheaper! And it came in them mail yesterday!

It is a well known fact among pregnant women that "touching the belly" is probably going to happen whether you like it or not....but we don't always have to like it! I haven't had many issues with this yet as I was not really showing until a few of weeks ago. So far, it's only happened on a couple of occasions and surprisingly enough, it didn't bother me a bit either time - you can ask my mom - she was present at both occasions and I was perfectly fine. Don't get me wrong, I love people and I'm not usually one of those "stay out of my personal space" type of girls. However, touching the belly is a little different (well a lot different I think) than giving hugs or whatnot. I'll hug people that I barley know.....but I won't touch their stomach...pregnant or not! :) Anyways, in time when the baby is kicking and it can be felt from the outside, I'm sure I'll be fine with other people "touching the belly" to feel that. (Good luck, seeing as how I don't feel her move much myself, much less can anyone see or feel her from the outside!) Until then - if you see me in this shirt - it's obviously not the day to attemp "touching the belly!" :)

By the way - the nursery painting is coming along nicely - I think Kyle is hoping to have it done this weekend, so I'll try and get pictures up as soon its finished.

  1. There are more than enough reasons to come to Dallas other than a shirt. I mean, not like I live anywhere near it. :) Secondly, I love this shirt. I think it is great that you got it. Oh, and there is nothing wrong with buying the pooh bear. You'll probably keep it when Ryleigh gets too old for it. Crazy. :) Love you.

  2. What do you mean "when she gets too old for it!" She'll be lucky if she gets to keep it while she's still young!

  3. I love that shirt. That would be an awesome gift, and if I have the occasion again, I might just have to find one for myself.
