Baby Shower and Nursery Pics

So, today was our first baby shower and we are so blessed with such great friends and family! We got tons of stuff and I can't wait to go back through it all to sort and put it away. I won't be able to mention everything I got on there or the list would go on forever - but there are a few things I'd like to mention. First of all I'd like to just mention that the biggest and possibly the best surprise was that Allison was able to come for the shower and I didn't have a clue! For those that don't know, she had asked my parents previously if she could drive up (from Denton, TX) for this weekend. Now Allison normally sings at a church in TX every Sunday and this weekend she even had a mandatory choir rehearsal on Sunday afternoon, so my parent's first reaction was "no." She didn't need to miss church and she couldn't miss the rehearsal and so it just didn't make sense to drive in late Friday just to turn around and head back on Sat. So - although not what she wanted to hear, that was the last I heard about it. In fact, she even called me on Thursday to remind me to take lots of pictures so that I could send them to her. So this morning after cleaning stalls at mom's I jumped in the shower and as I was finishing up, someone knocked on the bathroom door - expecting my mother, I opened the door and there was Allison! So, apparently my parents changed their minds and she came in last night and hid all of her stuff and left the house all morning so I wouldn't know that she was here! So that was super exciting to have her here for this weekend!

As for the shower - the grandmothers (Ryleigh's, not mine) got our entire bedding set with all the accessories! Then we received 3 personalized paintings for the nursery! I have such talented friends and family. Our good friend Ashley Keylor (www-the-busy-brush.com) painted a canvas with Ryleigh's name to go over the crib and my mother-in-law had another dear friend, Laura Hopkins (www.inkpd.com) paint a verse from Zephaniah that we put over the dresser. Finally, Kyle's cousin painted a beautiful pink rose that we have also hung in the nursery! So, I was especially excited that I came away from the shower and was pretty much able to decorate the entire nursery! We did gets lots of other really great things, but as I said, it would be impossible to list them all out here - so thanks to everyone who either brought/sent a gift - we are so thankful! When I got home with all the stuff, it only took Kyle about 10 minutes to decide that he definitely wanted to hang up the painting immediately! :) So, below are some of the pictures taken today of the "pretty much completed" nursery!
