Ok, so this week marks the halfway point - assuming that you are only pregnant for exactly 40 weeks. From all the women I know that have had children, this 40 week pregnancy thing is a myth. Seriously, how many women are pregnant for exactly 40 weeks - yeah that's what I thought, not many. So, this is supposedly my halfway mark and is probably worthy of deserving it's own blog post. This particular blog would be a little more interesting if I even felt pregnant.
Disclaimer: I know it could be lots worse, so if you are one of the unfortunate ones who had horrible pregnancy symptoms, I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining here. I understand I've been very lucky.
Here's the thing, from the very beginning of this journey, unless I was looking at a pregnancy test or the doctor was listening to the baby's hearbeat, I'd have no clue I was pregnant. I had no major morning sickness (thank goodness) and I haven't put on much weight at all. In fact, some of you that see me on a regular basis might not know I was pregnant if I hadn't told you (Not complaining here either). I can't feel the baby moving yet, which is very frustrating since every source I've read says by about 18-20 weeks you should be able to feel the baby. Maybe that will happen sometime this week...at least that's what I've been telling myself for the last 4 weeks in a row. :) Pretty much the only symptom that I've noticed is this intense craving for Cocoa Pebbles. When I say intense, I'm not kidding. I have to have a bowl every night regardless of whether or not I've just eaten or if it is 10:00pm by the time I get home. This had made me miserable on more than one occassion, but I can't seem to make myself skip this new ritual. It's becoming ridiculous - its a good thing that I like the knock off brand of Cocoa Pebbles, cause that stuff sure would get expensive otherwise! I'm sure if you ask Kyle, he's noticed some other symptoms of pregnancy...but since I'm not Kyle and he isn't posting, we'll skip mentioning those :)
On another note, I'd just like to vent a minute about the lack of baby stores in Northwest Arkansas. Kyle and I made a trip to Tulsa on Valentine's Day to check out Babies R Us. It was huge and we were there forever, unfortunately we don't have one very close to home, so registering for gifts will be interesting. We have some stores here, but the selection is nothing like what we saw in Tulsa.
Finally, I've posted another picture to the slideshow, and I know it's not the best and it is by far my least favorite. We've got to work on our picture taking skills! We did get a brand new camera for Valentine's Day, so maybe the upcoming picutures will turn out better!
Hello? Is anyone home?
