This past week, Kyle and I took a vacation. A much needed and much anticipated vacation. With my not so new anymore job, I haven't been able to take more than a couple of days vacation here and there. It has been about 10 months since we actually took a week long vacation. Even though we took a week, we stayed here in town for the first half of the week and just enjoyed hanging out during the daytime. That never ever happens and it was really nice. We couldn't really afford to take a big vacation where we took a long trip (and I couldn't leave Ryleigh for a full week!) So instead we found a good deal on a quick trip to Las Vegas! We'd never been, so we were excited about seeing it. We stayed in the Bellagio (which was amazing) and got to see The Lion King (which was maybe more excited than staying at the Bellagio!) :) Thinking back, I realized that Kyle and I have not been on a trip away with just the 2 of us (without staying with family) since our honeymoon. Although this was only 3 nights, we really needed it. I had forgotten what it's like to just be a wife for a few days. Not that I quit being a mom, but I had two very capable mom's watching Ryleigh over the weekend, so I had no reason to worry about her at all. In fact, we only called home one time to check on her. That's pretty good for me! So my observations about Vegas: bright, loud, crowded, and just crazy! :) We're glad we took the trip and it was neat to see, but not a place we'll go very often. My favorite part were the neat hotels and the shows! :) If I could have afforded it and had the time, I'd have seen as many shows as possible. That's not realistic, so we spent a lot of time walking. For a couple of people that don't gamble or drink, we were somewhat out of place! :) Also, I'm not used to all the "stuff" that goes on in the streets of Las Vegas - if you've been you know what I'm talking about. If not, don't worry, you're not missing anything! :) Unfortunately I don't really have any great pictures of the trip because we relied on Kyle's phone as we were packing very light. I'll try to post some later this week.
So, now we're back in the real world (which isn't all that bad!) and back to work and our normal routine. Ryleigh is still adjusting, I think this morning when I dropped her off she thought I was leaving her again because she just cried and cried. She was much better when I showed up this afternoon! :) A big thanks to both sets of Grandparents for helping watch Ryleigh while we were away! Hopefully, it won't be another 10 months before we do it again!

It's amazing what even a little bit of only mommy time can do for us! SO glad y'all were able to get away by yourselves! And I totally agree about the Lion King - so amazing!!!
