First of all, I just want to say that I'm so excited that it's fall! This is by far my favorite season, and although I'm a little disappointed with the lack of fall foliage this year, I'm still enjoying the season. Early in October we took Ryleigh to the pumpkin patch. Not because she enjoyed it so much last year or so she could pick a pumpkin but just so we could do a cute photo shoot! I must say it was a perfect day and we got some great pictures. That same weekend we went to bikes, blues, and BBQ here in Fayetteville. For those out of town readers, this is one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the country. There are thousands of bikes that come into town every year for it and I've just never been, so we decided to go. Well...Dad and I decided to go and Mom and Kyle and Ryleigh came along. We had a great time. We also used that weekend to visit a local corn maze - again a new experience for all of us! We "conquered" the maze (see picture below) and have decided that we'll definitely go back next year.
Corn Maze :)
Next in the list of highlights is Halloween. This year Ryleigh was a frog, she absolutely loves frogs, and although she doesn't say it very well (we'll leave that one up to the imagination of the reader) she says it all the time, so I couldn't resist when I saw the frog costume in the store a couple of months ago. She did very well with the costume. Unfortunately the Friday before Halloween she got sick. We're not sure what she had but she just kept throwing up - even in the costume after Kyle took her to his office for a quick visit! :( On that Saturday, we drug her with us to Silver Dollar City. She was acting better and so I thought she'd be fine. She did ok, just didn't want to eat and wasn't her normal cheerful self. On Halloween, she was acting better and we actually managed to get some super cute pictures of her and the cousins all dressed up. Well, technically I don't have the pictures, my mother-in-law has them, but once I get them, I'll post some! We discovered that week that Ryleigh was sick due to a double ear infection (yep, mom of the year right here...let my child go forever before going to the Dr. this time, and wouldn't you know that she actually had something wrong!) As if all that wasn't enough drama, this all happened during a very busy week for me at work where I couldn't miss or leave to take her anywhere, so Kyle ended up playing "Mr. Mom" for a week by himself. I have to say he's quite a trooper and did a great job. I'm so blessed to have a husband who doesn't mind stepping in to help even when it's not fun! It's hard enough to do by yourself on a good week - but I know it was stressful while she was sick. It took Ryleigh almost a full week to start feeling better and over the past couple of days she has finally returned to her old self. She is really close to walking and she is in this phase of literally repeating just about everything you say! We're having a lot of fun with her and although I've discovered that my child has an awful temper, for the most part she's generally outgoing and a happy child!
And finally, in other news, my sister is getting married! Hope I'm not stealing her thunder, she's already called the grandparents and posted on facebook, so I think discussing it on the blog is fair game! :) We're really excited for her, but it makes me feel so old! Can't believe my "baby" sister is getting married! So since she is out of state in school, mom and I are helping with some of the planning which is exciting. It will be here before we know it - which I guess means I need to get myself back to the gym! :) That's all I've got for now and I'm headed to bed to get some rest before another busy work week! Hope you all have a great week!
