First of all I'm obviously failing miserably at the whole "keep up with the blogging thing." Hopefully those of you that check diligently are still hanging with me in spite of my lack of posting! Due to my serious lack of time and sometimes energy at night to keep these things update, I have decided to abandon the day by day blog with pictures. If I can't keep up with this one, I certainly can't keep up with two of them! I'm usually not one to start something and quit - but I'm going to have to make this exception. Anyways, I'll continue to try and keep this one a little more up to date and also include some more pictures - since that's what most of you are here for anyways! :) So, Ryleigh is about 7 1/2 months (well almost 8 now!) old and she is getting so big. She has pretty much mastered the eating thing and loves her cereal, squash and green beans. Now I just need to move on to some other vegetables. For those that are unaware, I am making all my baby food instead of buying the jarred ones, so it takes a little longer to get a new vegetable ready for eating around here! Tonight I did a big batch of carrots....sure hope she like those! :) In addition to the eating, she is beginning to sit up on her own now. She was doing really good while she was in our laps and if she was supported, but now she can pretty much do it on her own, and she loves it. She has also said "da - da" Although it's more of a series of da-da-da-da....whatever, Kyle said it still counts as her first word! He's even got it recorded on his phone and plays it for just about everybody! As for Ryleigh, she is doing much better since my last post. She is off all her medication and I am also happy to report that she is sleeping through the night again. I'm so glad that her issues were related to her being sick and not just her developing some really bad habits. Also - in other big news, Kyle and I left Ryleigh for her first overnight stay with Nana and Papa last weekend. We attended a marriage retreat with our church and I must say that I think I did pretty good. I only called twice - once Friday night and again Sat. morning. I had to call Sat. morning because on Friday when I called, Dad answered the phone so I got next to no details about how everything was going. Basically he told me this - "She had a bottle, then ate some squash, she peed on your mom, and now she is going to sleep." That's it! That's all I got - so naturally I had to call back in the morning and get more details! Ryleigh did great, slept through the night for them also (which was my biggest fear in leaving her). So, since that worked out so well, we might be hitting them up more often for some overnight stays! :) I've got so much more to say tonight, but I think I'll save that stuff for another post! :)

Just like her momma, she has her mouth open for the picture! :)
7 months with Pooh - its hard to tell, but she is definitely sitting up by herself! :)

Glad she is getting so strong and healthy and even survived an overnight away from Mommy and Daddy!
ReplyDeleteI think you'd be interested in a blog called "Once a Month Mom". She makes all her baby food and has it streamlined into a one day event making food for the entire month. Check it out if you're interested.
