Once again I've managed to take a leave of absence from this blogging thing. It's just so much easier to talk to people instead of type. :) Anyway, we've had a busy couple of weeks, so I'll try and catch everyone up (and post some much needed pictures!) Sometime in the last couple of weeks we had Ryleigh's 4 month checkup. And yes, I know that next week she'll be 5 months, so I'm definitely behind on this update! Everything looks great, she was 12lbs, 1oz and was 24 and 1/4 inches long. So were in about the 25% on everything except the length which was 50% (probably just due to a growth spurt, so we're not getting our hopes up about a future basketball player or anything). I mentioned before that was concerned about her being a little behind on her developmental milestones, but the Dr. assured me that she is completely fine and on track. She did mention to me that Ryleigh's verbal skills for her age are very advanced....imagine that. We can't roll over or really grab objects yet, but by golly we can "talk!" So if anyone had any doubts, this confirms it....she is her mother's daughter! :) That same week of the appointment my Grandparent's came to visit for a week. They were here last year at Christmas and we were all so glad they could make it back up here. They are from Florida, so Christmas last year here was quite a weather change for them! I think this year they were hoping to come in the fall when it's a little warmer here...unfortunately they flew in on a day where the high was 46! Despite the colder than usual temps the week they were here, I think they had a great time, and I was especially glad that they were able to see and spend some time with Ryleigh while she is still a baby.

Ok, on to Halloween. We dressed Ryleigh up as a ladybug this year. I was expecting that she would just hate this outfit since it's one of those bodysuits that gets really hot. I've known so many babies who just scream when they are in these - so I had myself prepared for the worst. We didn't actually go trick-or-treating...since she can't eat candy..and I don't need it! We did go over to Mimi and Pappy's house for some pictures with all the cousins dressed up in their outfits. Kyle had a Halloween disc golf tournament at the church that evening, so Ryleigh and I were just going to hang out with Mimi and Pappy and help them hand out candy.
She wasn't sure about the outfit - but no screaming yet.
She wanted the paci - but again, she's not really upset either.
Here are all the cousins together.

Ok, seriously this happened between 2 pictures! I knew she was a little tired, but she literally went from being awake one minute to asleep the next. After this, there was absolutely no getting her back awake! She loved the costume...I guess if reminded her of her swaddle and she just thought it was time to go to bed! :)

Well, that's about all the updates I have for now - hopefully I'll being posting more often..but with the holidays coming up...I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you! ;)
