On Monday, I took her to the Dr. for her checkup. She is now 9 lbs and 5 oz. and 21 inches long! This also means that in comparison to the average of all other babies - she is now actually on the charts! Previously she was below the 0% percentile on all measurements. She is definitely gaining ground quickly. Her pediatrician was very excited about her progress and overall the the appointment went very well. I say overall because after the good news about her growth - she had to get her shots :( It was awful (probably harder on me that on her!) She cried like I've never heard her before and it just broke my heart! Good news was that she didn't have any reactions to the shots, no fever or anything, so that was a blessing!
Also, I was informed by the pediatrician that Ryleigh can now get in pools and other water - so tomorrow while Kyle is away at a tournament, we are going with Nana, Papa and Allison to the lake. So, I've purchased a floppy hat for Ryleigh and we're taking a small tub to fill with lake water so that she can cool off in that if she gets hot! So, sometime tomorrow or Sunday I'll post pictures of our first lake day!
Last night was also a "first" for Ryleigh - she slept in her crib instead of in our room. Not sure if I'm excited about that or sad. I kind of missed her in the room, but Kyle and I didn't want her to get in the habit of sleeping in our room. I spent the last couple of days purchasing the remaining things we needed to make the nursery fully operational so we moved her over last night. I was really nervous and didn't sleep much. I stayed up till 1:00 and then got up at 3:00 to check on her! I know, I'm crazy! She did just fine though and it was nice to have our room back to ourselves! I'm sure Kyle was glad to be able to get up and get ready this morning without trying to be extra quiet! :) Here are a couple of pictures of Ryleigh in her own bed!
