4 Month Update

I know the 4 month update is a little late, but better late than never right? Unfortunately for those of you that read this blog, you've probably discovered by now that updating it frequently is not always at the top of my "to do" list. I have good intentions and often think of things to put out here, but actually getting myself to the computer with some time to write it all down is another challenge! Anyways, Ryleigh turned 4 months old last Friday. She is getting so big and really showing her personality. We are so blessed to have such a happy baby. She is rarely fussy....except when she is really tired. She tends to get very cranky then...wonder where she gets that! :) She has really started to respond to people too, with smiles and she even giggles a little bit! She's starting to bat at her toys and loves to be sitting on your lap instead of just laying down. Anyways, Kyle and I are having a blast with her - she is just so much fun to be around. We haven't reached any major milestones yet like rolling over or actually grabbing things, but I keep telling myself that those things will come in time! I often compare her to other kids her age and worry that she is a little behind developmentally, but then I have to remember that she was born 4 weeks early and that could be the cause of what I think is "behind." We haven't been for her 4 month check up yet, so I don't have any official stats for you. However, a couple of weeks ago when we were at the Dr. for her cold, she weighed 10 lbs. 14 oz., so I am guessing that she is in the 11 pound range. Also last week Kyle and I measured her (not as accurate as the Dr.) at 23 inches. So, once we go to the Dr. I'll post the official stats, but at least you have a rough idea! :) We're supposed to be taking Ryleigh to a pumpkin patch this week for pictures - since there isn't much else for a 4 month old to do at a pumpkin patch! :) This is mainly for mom and dad, not Ryleigh! :) So, be on the lookout for those pictures after the weekend! Speaking of pumpkin patches, I can't believe that its really fall already! I absolutely love this time of year, I love the cold weather, the leaves, and the upcoming holidays. Which by the way are literally right around the corner! We are getting excited this year about the holidays - we are taking Ryleigh on her first long distance trip to Atlanta for Thanksgiving (in a car!) to see my mom's side of the family. Kyle and I are especially excited since we did not get to make this trip last year - so we haven't see these family members in about 2 years! So that trip is about 6 weeks away...which then means that Christmas is only 10 weeks away! :) So if you haven't started shopping (like me) it's time to get going! Ok, that's about all I've got - I'll leave you with some random pictures.
