Yep, it's been 4 years ago today that Kyle and I got married. I wish I could say that I've spent lots of time remembering that day and looking back at the past 4 years, but that wouldn't be true - I'm a little consumed with the future right now! :) However, Kyle and I did have a brief discussion about the events of the last 4 years as he was playing a round of disc golf the other day (as you can imagine, he was just about as focused on it as I have been!) Really though, we've come a long, long way. We've been through a lot - at least I think its a lot! I graduated from graduate school, we've moved 3 times, bought our first house, took our first long distance car trip (19 hours...just the 2 of us!), we've both had a couple of job changes, and now we are getting ready to add a new member to our family! Kind of feels like the game of LIFE right? Except that game goes by much quicker I think! Anyways, its easy to forget to look back and see how far you've come. When we got married, I had this plan of us buying our first home within a couple of years (since I was going to be starting this high paying job right out of grad school) and then within the 3-5 year time frame, we would start having kids. Yeah - I'm definitely a person who makes plenty of plans...but I didn't think this one out so well. Guess I forgot about that first year when I wouldn't really have a job that paid much of anything while I was in school and Kyle would have to support both of us. That's the true beauty (maybe delusion!) of marriage...when you can live in a house that has to be almost 100 years old, with no heat or air conditioner, eating mac n' cheese, Ramon noodles, and Totinos pizzas every night for dinner - all the while thinking there is some chance that you'll have that house of your dreams in 2 years! LOL It was an adventure, that's for sure - we had our share of difficult times - like when you wake up and realize that you just might have trouble paying all the bills in a single month! However, we managed to make it through and I'm so grateful that I have a husband who loves me unconditionally and is always supportive and encouraging even when I'm in one of my many "moods!" God had truly blessed me with a wonderful man to spend the rest of my life with and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us! Happy Anniversary Babe - I love you!
Just for giggles - I've attached a couple of pics - one from the wedding and one from our honeymoon in Jamaica!
Happy Anniversay. Steve & I just had our 7th! So, maybe in 3 more years you will have 2 more kids. :) I just had to write, it's hard to tell, but that looks like Katherine, mom & me in the background of your wedding pic. Katherine was only 5 months old then, she'll be 5 this year! YIKES!!!
Shannon!!! I'm so tickled to have found your blog (I followed a link on Jennifer Worthy's blog, hope you don't think that is stalking or anything :)! I love to keep in touch this way because, well, it is pretty much the only method that I actually use. (typed with chagrin).
I'm so excited for you guys to have a baby girl! I LOVE what you've done with her nursery! The scriptures underneath the paint is probably one of my favorite touches. Eric and I have an almost 7 month old baby girl named Gwen. She is a riot! We are so excited for you to have the same joy in your home!
I am a wife to an amazing husband and a mommy to the sweetest little girls(I know, I'm not biased or anything) and loving every moment of it! We stay pretty busy around here so this blog is my attempt to keep our friends and family up to date on what's going on with us!
Happy anniversary! Josh and I just celebrated ours yesterday. I hope all is well with the pregnancy!
